On 21 April, China’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Geng Shuang (@chinamission2un on X), reminded the UN Security Council that Haiti’s foreign-instigated violence, which had displaced 1-million people by January 2025, is a direct result of more than a century of US intervention.
He argued that the US should be brought to account for consistently undermining Haiti’s sovereignty, not only through past invasions but also by neocolonial sabotage.
