Oil prices rose by 1 percent early on Wednesday and were set for the best performance in a first half of a year since 2009, as demand recovery and advances in vaccine programs have pushed up prices by more than 40 percent since the start of 2021. As of 9:06 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, ahead of the weekly EIA inventory report, WTI Crude prices were up by 1.41 percent and trading at $73.91, and Brent Crude was up 1.03 percent at $75.48.
