Man Arrested Over Damage To Murdered Leeds Officers' Memorials

A man has been arrested by detectives investigating damage caused to the memorials to two murdered Leeds police officers at the weekend.
The 56-year-old man, from Leeds, was arrested last night on suspicion of intentionally causing a public nuisance in relation to incidents on Saturday evening where black paint was sprayed on the memorial to PC Ian Broadhurst, who was shot and killed in Dib Lane on Boxing Day 2003, and on the memorial to Sgt John Speed, who was shot and killed in Kirkgate in the city centre on October 31, 1984.
