Family of Kevin Adams hold vigil in honor of victims

Now to a triple murder that happened in douglas county.

Kevin adams, now 18, was sentenced to 60 years in prison for murdering his adopted mother, sister and biological sister in novemember 2017.

And new tongiht at 11..the family held a vigil tonight in the victims honor& and kezi 9 news reporter evita garza shows us how theye reacting to today sentence.

It was an emotional night for family and friends of kevin adams& as they gathered on the steps of the douglas county courthouse to remembered those theye lost.

Katrina baros, family member:?we did not get justice but we hopefully got a little bit of closure?

It was november of 2017, when then 16- year-old adams shot and killed his foster mother, donya adams, foster sister amory adams, and biological sister payshience adams in the family's home near roseburg.

Brenda smith, family member: it was so intentional.

Even the thought of how could you possibly do that?

Today, he pleaded guilty for what he done, and he facing 60 years in prison.

But because of senate bill 10-08& which bans life without parole sentences for juveniles, adams could be released sooner than the family hoped.

Sherilyn olson, family member:?it doesn seem justice for loosing the rest of my aunt life.

For loosing amory and tia, who were both so young?

Evita stand up:?some family members tell me theye using this time to 10-08 which gives adams the eligibility for parole in 15 years.

Until that bill is repealed justice will not be served??he deserves life.

He took three lives, so he deserves life?

Family members say kevin adams deserve to serve his full sentence&and theyl keep fighting until he does.
