clinton pool reopens

The Clinton Pool welcomed back swimmers for the first time on Sunday.

The pool's opening was delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

If like violet just said it's going to be hot!

And after months of waiting, residents in waiting, residents in clinton now have a place to cool off.

The clinton pool opened today for the first time this summer.

The pandemic put that on hold- there are new rules.

Here's newschannel 2's brent kearney.

"this gives them a place to come a little normalcy back in clinton."

Nats splash management here at the clinton pool are thankful to welcome back some of their loyal swimmers .

None "their was definitely a doubt.

We weren't sure what the state was going to allow us to do.

But once we heard we would be able to open, we thought it would be a great idea."

The pool worked with the county health department and the school district in formulating a plan for reopening.

Within that plan members now have to register online as space is now limited to 75 people.

But on hot days like today, families are thankful to now have a place to cool off.

"we kept driving up and down the road to see if there was water in the pool and there was no water.

.

"when you do come to the pool their are a few extra rules that you need to follow.

One you need to stay in your designated square that you're assigned to.

But whenenever you leave that square to go to the bathroom or concession stand, you do need to where your mask."

"we're used to having our masks so its pretty much a part of us.

So we've got our masks we're always ready for change."

"we still have some rules to follow but it gives them somewhere to go.

Something they're used to doing every summer we have alot of families that comeback year after year so we see alot familiar faces here."

Carmelita balsdon and jean marie are a couple of those familiar faces that come every year.

"i come from holland patent.

We came to check it out, the people here are wonderful, the lifeguards are great the board has done a great job this year of making sure we're all compliant."

"we are definitely going minute by minute here now.

Its our first opening day and so far its going very well."
