Rustic Village North fire

A victim from the Rustic Village North apartments fire has died a week later.

Apartment fire last week, has now died from his injuries.

The chattanooga fire department says 83-year-old hugh lingerfelt passed away yesterday at a nashville hospital.

He, and multiple other people were hurt in the fire that significantly damaged a building at the rustic village north apartments on sunflower lane.

First responders had to rescue two dogs, and several residents, who were trapped on their balconies.

Firefighters say the blaze started in lingerfelt's apartment, and good samaritans had to drag him out of the building.

They're still investigating the cause of the fire.
