We continue our back to school coverage this morning out in colbert county!

Some sheffield city school students are gearing up for their first day of class this morning.

Waay 31's sierra phillips is live at a sheffield elementary school with what students can expect as they get ready for day 1.

Just in the last hour teachers started to arrive here....take a look.... on top of that, the district has a staggered schedule.

Group a students will have in person classes on monday and tuesdays, group b will be in class on thursdays and fridays!

When the groups aren't in class- they'll be taking online courses.

The groups are decided by the first letter of their last name.

In order to limit the number of people in the hallways, 5th grade teachers will move from class to class instead of students!
