And their safety while running.

Last week... an "arkansas" woman disappeared while on a run..

She was later found dead.

Now..

It's sparking calls for change on social media... news 10's jordan kudisch joins us live from a local gym.

She spoke with police..

And has more on staying safe while running solo.

Women across the world are running for "sydney sutherland."

That's to finish the steps she couldn't take before she lost her life.

You can see the trend "finish sydneys run" women are taking the strides against this issue..

Tagging other women do the same.

And even here at home..

It's something to talk about.

I sat down with the sheriff of vigo county.

He says women should be able to run freely--without concerns for their well-being.

But..

There are ways to protect yourself while out and alone.

Always run with friends..

And avoid baggy clothing.

Plasse says the biggest thing you should remember-- always be aware of your surroundings.

"another thing is have a plan.if somebody comes at you what are you going to do cause the worst time to figure out what how you're going to respond is when it's actually happening.

Just be aware and have a plan, that'll make everybody safer."
