The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors voted to implement a curfew for residents.

Board of supervisors enacted a curfew for the county in hopes of slowing large parties taking place.

The curfew starts at 12 am and goes through 4 am.

Oktibbeha sheriff steve gladney says the office received numerous complaints from citizens ranging from noise complaints to even blocked roads from parties.

Some of those parties had over 1-hundred people... these gatherings were so large gladney says it became difficult for deputies to access the roads when they received the complaints.

The sheriff says one of the main reasons these gatherings became uncontrollable is because of people who traveled from other counties.

Steve gladney - oktibbeha county sheriff: "some of the counties surrounding us have curfews so those people come over here because we don't so we were just having large numbers all through the weekend.

It was kind of taxing on our deputies."

Sheriff gladney says the board of supervisors will meet again next monday to discuss the effectiveness of the curfew and if it should be continued.
