10/5/20 Scores: New Hartford returns to the field with shutout win over Central Valley Academy

Stretch of uncerinty and weren'- but high school sports are back in central new york.

Tonight - two tri- valley league opponents - new hartford and c-v-a went head-to-head in field hockey to kick off their 2020 seasons.

A little bit of a different look - all players wearing masks...four quarters instead of two haes to allfor my we're playing!

--- first quarter - new hartford came out of the gate firing but thunder keeper morgan russo up to the task...kicks away the shot from ella greico and ends the threat.

--- early in the second - more of the same.

Not one - not two but three stops with the boot - then on thebackt aside.

Spartans throwing everything at the russo to this point but the sophomore standing tall.

--- a few minutes later - new hartford keeping up the pressure.

Ilana mccarthy sneaks a shot just inside the far post - the spartans finally get to russo...sigh of relief for mccarthy as she puts new hartford up one.

--- on the other side - emilee clarey not as busy - but also solid when she needed to be.

Swats it away with the stick... ((score)) ...new hartford able to break it open in the second half with four more goals including two from greico.

Spartans open the year with a 5-0 win.
