Secretary of State sends out PPEs to all 82 counties
Monroe County received personal protective equipment from State
Huge shipment of personal protective equipment arrived in monroe county in time for next week's election.
W-t-v-a's wayne hereford joins us live from the monroe county courthouse in aberdeen.
He talked to the circuit clerk who said this will help keep poll workers safe come election day.
Dana sloan told me all 26- precincts in monroe county will have more than enough personal protective equipment to take care of voters and poll workers come election day.
"we've got hand sanitizer; we've got cleaner to clean the precinct.
We've got spray bottles of cleaner for the precinct."
Dana sloan said the secretary of state's office sent other supplies to monroe county to fight the coronavirus at the polls next tuesday.
"we've got gloves for the pollworkers to wear.
"we've got gloves for the pollworkers to wear.
And then that's just some hand- cleaning towels.
And then we've got k-95 masks for the pollworkers.
We're out of those now but i'm waiting on some of those to get here so i can get them all packed up."
Sloan showed me some of the boxes that are already almost packed up and ready to go.
She expects another shipment from the secretary of state.
"q-tips, we're going to use those if somebody doesn't want ot use the stylists and take it with them.
We've got pen stylists that the state's provided that the voters can use it and then take it with them."
All eighty-two mississippi counties will get the protective gear from the secretary of state.
Sloan says she expects a huge turnout come november third.
