Residents are moving back into the junction city retirement and assisted living community... nearly three weeks after 46 people were forced out.
It started with a power outage... but, there was also an investigation into a staff member..
Accused of mistreatment and theft.
Kezi 9 news reporter emma withrow is live at the facility with the latest in the investigation and the clients who are moving back in.
Renee i was told none of the assisted living clients are able to return until the facility gets its license approved by the state... and the chief of police in junction city told me the investigators are still gathering evidence since its no longer noell jandraszek being investigated.
Chief morris said they were not able to release any specifics about the investigation but that they are looking into more than one staff member here at this facility.
Senator james manning was shocked when i told him the 17 independent residents were moving back in today..
Lane county used to give me regular briefings on how the facility was, was improving nothing lately, so so to find out that they're moving people back in right now.
It's something that i am very not.
I'm not i'm uncomfortable with this.
Manning said he wants dhs to look further into the facility and its staff... because the disrespect of our elderly is unacceptable.
Facility staff told me the residents currently moving back in are receiving welcome care packages and are all being covid tested.
