Little Cove Road Repair

This morning....crews are preparing to re-open a busy road in madison county.

Little cove road was shut down for two weeks in order for improvements to be made to the area the city as well as madison county teamed up on the project.

Ashley what improvements have been made to the road?

For the last two weeks crews have worked to repave this road to get rid of some of the potholes and make it easier for drivers.

Commissioner craig hill said the project was necessary because of all the wear and tear from the constant traffic.

He says aside from re-paving the road....they also worked to make it safer to drive on at night "the reflectivity on the road, on the bridge, on the guardrail, we made it more visible at night, and as we continue over the next month, we will continue those and once we are completed, it will be a lot more visible at night to be able to see better through this stretch of little cove road," hill said improvements were also made to the area so people with kayaks and canoes have easier access to flint river if you have to drive the road today it is still shut down for right now.

Hill expects the road to re-open around 1 p-m this afternoon.
