Message".

As of today..

We're just "1"-week away "from the genera election".

"early voting numbers" continue "to surge" throughout the wabash valley.

"voters" are making their voices heard..

"in droves"..

"ahead of the presidential election".

News 10's "dominic miranda"..

Spoke with clerks all across our viewing area today.

He joins us now..

"with brand new numbers".

//////// i spoke with county election clerks from nine different indiana counties to get an update on where they're at with early voting.

The message was consistent with all of them....they are seeing more voters....and people are passionate to make their voices heard in 2020 let's get right into it.

All these numbers are the most recent these county clerks could provide.

On your screen you'll see numbers from daviess, martin, and greene counties..

All of those clerks told me they have been swamped since early voting started and they will definitely see larger numbers than in 2016.

A couple interesting notes with this group of counties.

Through noon today.... parke county has seen nearly 2 thousand in person votes and almost 500 votes by mail.

They have already surpassed their *total* early voting numbers from 2016.

Clay county has tripled its amount of mail in ballots this year with just more than a thousand.

And with just under 35 hundred in-person votes... the clerk's office tells me they anticipate beating their total number from 2016 on wednesday.

Lastly...vigo county has nearly 25 thousand total which has surpassed their 2016 total of 21 thousand early votes.

I caught up with greene county clerk stuart dowden about the impressive numbers the wabash valley is seeing.

He told me why he believes that's so...and why it's a great thing.

"they're fired up about this election and voting for a particular person or particular party.

Even though it's more work--you know the more people that come in, the more we have to do--that's immaterial to the fact that it's exciting to see people involved."

Coming up at 6... i'll have more from some other clerks around the valley...and what they expect on election day.

In terre haute.
