People express frustration over high positivity rate in Tehama County

Tehama County is the second highest county in positivity rate when it comes to coronavirus.

Action news now reporter 'carmela karcher' spoke with some people about their concerns.

Carmela karcher: "tehama county is still in the purple tier and has been for almost a month straight."

Right now - tehama county has a positivity of 8.5 - almost tripling the state's average of 3.2.

That's the second highest positivity rate in the state behind imperial county at over 11 percent.

Tifani chrisman/tehama county resident: "i think some of this could have been avoided if it were hit in the very beginning.

We have lost due to this.

So, this did hit us personally.

We lost a grandmother a couple weeks ago.

So, yeah, that was hard but she had underlying health conditions.

So, we are not going to...but we are frustrated."

Michelle hickok...owner of zelma's in red bluff...is just as frustrated... but says tehama will pull through.

Tehama county is the only county in our area still in the purple zone.
