High School Volleyball: Dwenger Storms Back to Claim First State Title

Bishop Dwenger came within one point of being swept before coming back to win the 3A state championship in five sets against Brebeuf Jesuit on Saturday.

Well great teams are at their best when their backs are against the wall..and on saturday, bishop dwenger volleyball showed the state just how great they are... ???saints taking on brebeuf in the 3-a state championship match down in muncie..

Braves took the first two sets..

Set tied at 25...???moments later... it's eva hudson coming up with a clutch kill..

One of her match-high 33... that's a new state finals record... dwenger takes set three 27-25...???and the saints found their swagger after that... in the fourth, molly wiginton with one of her five kills on the night... dwenger dominates set four, 25-15...???so we move to a decisisive fifth set... match point for dwenger here... big swing from hudson, but elizabeth phillips turns her away... keeps it in bounds as well.

That ties the set at 14 a piece...???moments later... we're tied at 15... gotta win by two... and it's olivia clark coming up with the big solo block for b-d... gives 'em a one point lead...???so it's match point again for the saints... and it's the senior clark giving the bishop dwenger community a moment it will never forget..
