Veteran's day shining light on the current pandemic in state-run homes...for our heros.
Good evening, i'm jodie o'brien.
The novel coronavirus has claimed the lives of 98 residents of missouri veterans to date.
Six more deaths since we updated you just six days ago... five of them from the cameron veterans home -- which brings the death toll at that facility to 32.
For context -- the census at the facility on july 1st was 169 residents.
The cameron home is also battling active covid cases among its staff.
All told -- the virus has killed nearly 10 percent of the all residents in the state-run homes.
