BEGINS IN DECEMBER.NOW, THE PANDEMIC IS CAUSINGHUGE CHANGES FOR DETROIT PUBLICSCHOOLS.THE DISTRICT IS SUSPENDING ALLIN-PERSON INSTRUCTION FOR THEREST OF THE CALENDAR YEAR ANDPARTS OF JANUARY.ALL CLASSES WILL BE HELD ONLINESTARTING MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16.FACE TO FACE LEARNING ANDLEARNING CENTERS WILL REMAINOPEN THURSDAY AND FRIDAY TOPROVIDE FAMILIES TIME TO CHANGEAND ADAPT TO THAT TRANSITION.THIS SUSPENSION WILL BE INEFFECT UNTIL JANUARY 11.THE DISTRICT WILL CONSIDERREOPENING LEARNING CENTERSEARLIER IF POSITIVITY RATESIMPROVE.THE DECISION WAS DRIVEN BYSCIENCE AND SAT A.SCHOOL BUILDINGS WILL REMAINOPEN NOW TO SUPPORT FAMILIES ANDSTUDENTS BY DELIVERINGEDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND MEALS.THREE MEALS WILL BE DISTRIBUTEDMONDAYS FROM 9:00 A.M.
TO 1:00P.M.
AND FOUR MEALS WILL BEDELIVERED ON THURSDAYS DURINGTHAT SAME TIME PERIOD.STARTING DECEMBER 1, THEDISTRICT WILL OPEN 12 TECHNOLOGYHUBS ACROSS THE CITY TO PROVIDEFAMILIES WITH FACE TO FACETECHNOLOGY SUPPORT FOR ONLINELEARNING.THE SCHOOL DISTRICT WILL ALSOPROVIDE COVID19 TESTING ATCERTAIN LOCATION
