Coronavirus case numbers are still rising in douglas county and public health officials say they are doing everything they can to get in under control.
Kezi 9 news reporter evita garza explains why theye hoping people stay patient& especially as the holidays approach.

He says the last thing he wants is to get sick& or infect the people around him.
Fred marcelio, roseburg resident:?if people don wanna help themselves, they can help other people by wearing a mask or not socialize in large groups?
However, public health officer bob dannenhoffer says he worries not everyone in douglas county thinks the same way as marcelino.
Just yesterday& they reported a record breaking 33 cases.
Today count isn as high& but he concerned it only going to get worse.
Phoner dannenhoffer:?for example, on one of our communities here, there are six different places where there are disease, so it would be hard to tell where of the six you got it from?

But in the last few weeks, he says travel- related cases have been the majority in douglas county... which he says is disappointing??we have recent cases this week from texas and california that spread to areas of the county that previously had not much disease?
However, with the holidays coming up& dannenhoffer says he hopes people diligently wear masks, social distance and stay home.
There is a great vaccine right on the horizon, two of them, right on the horizon?
And he hopes people stay patient& just like marcelino.
If they think theye invincible, they should change their minds.
Not for just themselves, but for other people?
