At kezi dot com.
Coronavirus cases are still on the rise in douglas county.... and public health officials are still trying to figure out how to best control the spread in the community.
Kezi 9 news reporter evita garza shows us why their concern is growing more every day.
As cases numbers go up in douglas county& public health officer bob dannenhoffer says keeping track of all of them has become a challenge.
He says the virus has become extremely widespread in the community.
Phoner dannenhoffer:?early on, when there were just a few cases and they were kind of scattered, you could kind of figure out where people got the disease from.
Now, the disease is coming from all corners?
On tuesday, douglas county reported a record- breaking 36 cases.
And just last week, the record was 33.
Dannenhoffer says he concerned people are choosing not to listen to the state and county recommendations & like avoiding travel or large gatherings.?there are churches out there that have followed what wee asked them to do.
But at the churches that have not& wee seen some outbreaks?
00:51 evita: despite the recent spike in cases, dannenhoffer says there is one thing douglas county has consistently been well since the beginning... testing?
After opening their first drive through testing site in march, dannenhoffer says theye learned a lot about what works and what doesn.
Now, he says it not hard to get a test in douglas county.
And, with more testing, he says they have a better perspective of how the virus is spreading in the community.?we now have very widespread, very rapid testing in almost every clinic in town& people can get them inexpensive, very fast and pretty darn accurate?
Douglas public health network runs their drive through testing site every tuesday and friday& at the douglas county fairgrounds.
