Saturday morning shooting leaves two people dead in duboizz county... the jasper police department investigating that deadly incident... 44news reporter ella shemwell has been following this story all day--and joins us now with the latest.

Shortly after two in the morning...the jasper police department responded to a call about a shoot out that occurred in the street right behind me.

An investigation underway--- "he got as far as my shed, fell to the ground, and clung to life" jasper police receiving a call around 2-15 saturday morning---for a man who had been shot-- needing help...on rhine strasse near the 47th street intersection... we're told police identified the man as 19-year- old andres lopez of owensboro.... jasper police later receiving a second call from memorial hospital--- reporting*another man who had been taken to the e-r with a gunshot wound... that man-- identified as 21- year-old tre carnahan of eckerty-indiana.... police say--an incident occurred involving both men--in the maple grove trailer park--south of the 47th street intersection.... we're told both men exchanged gunfire with handguns-- striking each other... "that's when the fire started rolling.

There was at least 20" neighbors who spoke with 44new---say they saw the incident unfold.... "i heard the truck pull up at like 12:30 at night, and then i just heard the people arguing.

Then 2 in the morning, cops were closing the roads and stuff cause there was two bodies" the two men later died at a local hospital...an autopsy is underway from the dubious county coroners office.
