Today is black friday!

It's typically 24 frantic hours of shoppers waiting to get into stores and prowling for holiday gifts.

But -- like everything else this year -- the coronavirus pandemic is playing a factor!

We have live team coverage for you this morning on how malls and box stores are working to keep you safe.

We start with waay 31's ashley carter.

She is live at bridge street town center with some changes early morning shoppers will see!

She told me despite the pandemic they are still expecting to see crowds today...each store here has their own safety protocols in place and there will be extra mall staff to make sure they get implemented.

The spokeswoman for bridgestreet town centre told me during the holidays they always bring in extra staff to make sure things run smoothly she says they are expecting a lot of shoppers to come by today...but because they are an outdoor mall it makes it a little easier for them to provide a safe socially distance environment every store inside bridgestreet has their own limit on how many customers are allowed in the store at a time...and the limit just depends on the size of the store.

Some stores also have markers on the floor to keep customers 6-feet a part in the check out lines employees will also be wearing masks and ask that customers do the same when shopping today today is not only black friday here at bridgestreet but the mall is also opening up their
