Kimt news 3's samantha soto chatted with one southeastern minnesota small business owner today.

"its important to support small businesses all year round but in a time of need for so many, shopping local around the holidays is all it can take to support those small business owners in small towns like right here in chatfield."

Throughout the pandemic, like many others, the small shop has strived to keep customers and staff safe.

Store owner melissa burnett says a majority of profits made within the business,?

"* go right back the community by shopping at other locally owned stores in town.

She says her favorite part about being a small business owner, is getting to talk to people from all over, and make their needs come to life, as many items being sold are made in house.

She suggets those who've never shopped small before, to grab a coffee, walk down the street and stop into a few.

"i think you'd be surprised at how much you can actually buy in your small town., and what people have to offer, and the customer service that you recieve."

Burnett says that by working together with other businesses in town, it helps the success of not only their business, but the community as a whole.
