Fire at Cooper Tire sent black smoke high above Tupelo
Burned at one of the biggest manufacturing plants in our area today... as you can see (behind me) ,our skyview nine drone gave us an aerial look at smoke rising from the cooper tire plant... you can also see firefighters trying to put the flames... we captured this during the eleven o-clock hour this morning.

The smoke could be seen from all over the city.
City of tupelo cheif opperations officer, don lewis, told us he tupelo city fire cheif contacted him at 10:45 about the fire and says flames were coming out of the roof.
When i arrived to the scene this morning black smoke funneled out of the facility and covered the sky.
Firefighters worked to put out the fire.
Tupelo police department blocked off the green street enterance to the plant.
Black smoke continued to pour out of the building until almost 12 noon.
Hazy conditions covered the sky for a while, while the police and fire department remained on the scene.
