Chelsea, what's the situation like now, and how's the air?
Well the air is much cleaner than when i was out here at lunch time.
Tupelo fire department has worked for hours extinguishing the fire and assessing the damage.
The fire department posted on its facebook page a few hours ago the fire was under control and they were starting to overhaul and salvage anything.
We started receiving viewer pictures of the blaze into our newsroom shortly before 11 this morning.
When i arrived to the seen you could see the thick black smoke for miles, and the air quality was poor.
At about 12 the smoke started to lighten..
A sign the fire department was getting the blaze under control.
Representatives with cooper tire say they evacuated the building when the fire broke out.
No one was hurt according to cooper tire.
The fire department has been on the scene all day, i have spoke with fire cheif thomas walker to try and find out a cause of the fire and the extent of damage.
