Workers with the City of Aberdeen distributed gifts to the families who registered for the city's angel tree.

Here in aberdeen, folks walked away with toys to put under their tree for christmas, thanks to the city clerks office who held the city's annual angel tree.

She helps put on the city's annual angel tree... allowing children to receive toys they otherwise may not have.

Barbara vasser - deputy clerk in aberdeen: "everybody wants a toy or present at christmas time and so that's why we do it."

This year, 46 families registered for the angel tree... this year, 46 families registered for the angel tree... receiving all kinds of gifts.

One of those families includes jessica young... who picked up a bike for a 3- year-old child.

Jessica young - received angel tree gifts: "i'm very thankful they did this this year for the kids because you know all this covid going around.

There's barely shopping and everything.

I really appreciate them for it."

Young and all other families were allotted a certain time to come pick-up their gifts to maintain social distancing among participants.

Even with the changes this year, vasser said the most rewarding part today is the gratefulness she receives from participants.

Now to ensure the safety of those participating, everyone wore masks and all families were given numbers for picking up the correct toys to keep the process moving.
