City of Lafayette giving more than $200,000 to small businesses
Are looking to support small businesses in the new year.
The city is giving out 215-thousand dollars in federal funds.
It'll go to owners facing hardships caused by covid-19.
This money comes from the city's community development block grant.
The application process opens next tuesday, december 29th.
Owners will have a week to apply.
Lafayette's economic development director says these funds came just in time.
He's encouraging businesses to take advantage of it.

The business owners themselves and their employees and such so, we want to be able to assist in anyway we can.
Business can receive up to 10-thousand dollars.
Businesses located in the red zones on this map are the ones eligible for these funds.
