Thomas massie votes against awarding congressional medals house passes bill ... on wednesday.... the house passed a bill to award the medals to u.s. capitol police and washington d-c's metropolitan police department.
However.... kentucky representative thomas massie spoke out against the bill... along with 11 others.
He says it's because the bill used the term "insurrection" and was concerne about the implication that description could have on prosecutions of those in the capitol that day.
The bill must be approved by the senate before the medals are awarded.
