Local schools following Gov.

Brown's announce and making the change from 6ft to 3ft for classroom socially distancing as recommended by the CDC.

Didion spoke with school officials in the medford to hear how they are preparing for this change.

On cam: as local schools wrap up their spring break vacation we're hearing from the medford education association and the medford school district about changes to meet these new guidelines and bring more students back into the classrooms full time.

Troy: " medford teachers and from the beginning, one of their students back as quickly and as safely as possible.

So to that extent, i think we're super excited about this change" m-e-a president troy pomeroy says he believes there is a sense of frustration with all the changes schools have gone through this year.

Troy: "and what people don't realize is that it takes a ton of energy resources, manpower.

You mobilize a district of our size.

And that usually happens in the summer... and that hasn't really happened this year.

We have restarted the school year, so many times.

Midstream with classes going on while people are running schools and teaching classes at the same time, it's exhausting."

Bret champion is the superintendent of the medford schools district and he says during spring break changes were made for the classrooms set up for when plans are finalized.

Bret champion: "because folks were out for spring break, our amazing facilities crew got all that furniture back.

It's not that we're making the change tomorrow, but we want to be able to make the change, um, and not have the furniture be a holdup."
