New senate bill that can help struggling businesses increase sales

Georgia General Assembly passes Senate Bill 236, now on it’s way to be signed by Governor Kemp.

A bill that allows restaurants to offer cocktails to-go, with food orders, is waiting on governor kemp's signature after it was approved by the state legislature.

41nbc's lizbeth gutierrez has more on how it's expected to impact restaurants in downtown macon.

Standup: senate bill 236 will allow businesses like tzangos to provide a cocktail to-go rather than just serving them inside.

Karina barragen (employee of tzango) :"i think it helps a lot because some people still enclosed at home and they want to drink some margaritas and they want to drink some beer, and if we can do that we have that."

Karina barragen who works at tzangos says the pandemic hit hard for many businesses.

And for them, their greatest sales came from to-go orders.

With many people going in to eat and asking for a cocktail, this bill will be a big plus to the c1 3 b13 resataurant.
