L3: abc 36 news white deadline to retake 2020-2021 school year students have until may 1 to make request governor andy beshear signed off on a bill passed by the legislature this year... giving student the option to repeat the 2020- 2021 school year due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Students can also decide if they want to retake any classes.
School boards have until june first to decide whether to accept the requests.
They will not be allowed to make decisions on an individual basis.
The law also gives high school senior athletes a fifth year of eligibility.
