Chattanooga Mayoral candidate Kim White continues her conversation with Chip Part 3
Kim white, by the way, today is the last day for early voting so again, thanks for joining us know your life is crazy.
Go you recently came out couple weeks ago with your 10 point women's initiative highlight that force tell us what yeah thank you jeff.
I think as a female i had a very unique perspective and i would be the first female mayor and hundred 91 years i might add i had to really look at issues that are affecting women in the city and as in the country that we lost 2.4 million women out o work for since, they tried to juggle childcare and a lot of lot of other issues.
So i city hall.
We want to be a leader an set the example we were to come out and cyber providing childcare for our employees really to encourage a lot of other employers to help us increase seats for child care our goal is to have 2000 more seats in an early childhood and we think that we can do that an we think that's that's an imperative.
Not only help with talent in the workforce but als help make sure kids are ready for school.
Knowing how to nurture the talent workforce is also something that women probably are a little better ou than their milk gst lot had experienced my entire career to be the only female on the table.
Make sure that we actually have opportunities and we make sure our administration is very diverse and especially at a point people aboard his hundred 60 8c divorce to make sure ther is like that of our community very briefly to talk about your team, your your organization group and provided you are elected mayor regarding have your cabinet picked out so speaker team members.
You have rough fight via alaska.
The question is not well absolutely i think i have a history of the team together antacid things so i've been talking to a lot of people on most of those are employed, another great job today so he has woken up quickly with that with attainment.
I want to make sure we had the best the best and also had a lot of great employees to make sure that we have an opportunity to interview and make sure the people in the right states sli so we think that quickly will come out of that with a top- notch ministration without asking what you're hit list is what's one of the first things you're going to do a recap when hundred days totally start finish, but it can white steps in the mayor's office next week which job number one.
The menendez fit together, they offer the small business of hard because that's critical where getting many from the federal government we want to make sure that we do void i was correctly the limerick making sure they were helping some the small business is struggling to look at how we streamline city government processes to make sure that i investment that's been out there on the docket can take on the people of said one to spend money and invest money and sending them but they're waiting because way too complicated.
The one thing that was disappointing to both of us.
A lot of us were watching and actively pursue the families were crappy because the voter turnout was crappy.
It was what 5% of the eligible voters turne out to renown this past time.
There are 28,000 people that turned out that was higher than what we've had in the past you.
We need people to come out about it is so important you got about 90 seconds to look at his camera over here in told folks who were watching to tell their friends what you are the american yeah thank you.
I absolutely love the city.
I spent my career working to make a difference in a city that has so much to me.
I feel like i'm uniquely qualified.
I have run business.
I met a payroll, i'm running on off it.
I sat beside in city government 11 years and am in perspective and outside i perspective of what's broken an what needs to be next in histor, pulling together coalitions and partnerships to get work done i city government can't do it alone.
We need a leader that can pull the city to gather bringin our great partners, a faith- based community.
The nonprofit community working with city and county government.
I am that leader.
I would love to have your boat and your support.
I went to work hard for you just like i worked my entire life and how i'm working on this to thank you for your consideration and for your support.
Very well said you so much for keeping your word in your promise to be here today thank you appreciate that very much.
Election is coming up.
Tuesday the 13th.
It is right around the corner.
Make sure bring your proper identification of the lord for that to actually find out more about either candidate's ear.
They are listed on your screen.
