Honoring 911 dispatchers

This week is National Telecommunicators Week, in honor of the work of emergency workers like 911 dispatchers.

Workers... who are so important... but it's not ((often we come in contact with them, unless something is going wrong!

Telecommunication emergency services workers -- or 9-1-1 dispatchers.

They're certified in emergency police dispatch and medical dispatch... and have to understand the intricate policies of each fire and ems department.

They're the first person to come into contact in an emergency situation.
