The cast of new BBC crime drama The Chelsea Detective spotted filming in London - but apparently had to film in Clapham instead.Killing Eve star Adrian Scarborough is playing the role of Chelsea-house-boat dwelling DI Max Arnold, and can be seen filming scenes riding his bike.Sonita Henry was also snapped on set where she's playing DC Priya Shamsie, who will help solve crimes involving the Chelsea affluent alongside her partner Arnold.Some eerie shots show the film set at night, catching some of the spooky suspense of the eagerly awaited series co-written by Peter Fincham of Downton Abbey fame.The film set is located on The Chase, near Clapham Common, Clapham, London, and locals said show bosses had to film there to give them gardens to shoot in.One local said: "It's really exciting to have this locally in Clapham, particularly as the script is set in Chelsea."But like these photos indicate, a lot of the scenes unfold within front and back gardens - none of which Chelsea houses typically have."Chelsea is quite central with lots of townhouses that don't have a lot of outside space."It's cool they've chosen this area because I've always lived around here."I'm working from home so my office window looks out onto it."There's been this scene with Adrian just cycling down the road that they've shot over and over."Residents said the filming took place for a week starting April 12.Filming was delayed by the Coronavirus pandemic and the four feature length episodes are expected to air next year.
