The Locker Room: High School Football Sectional Semifinals

Sectional championship games are now set, and several squads from Northeast Indiana will be competing for hardware next week!

Evening everyone..and a warm welcome inside the locker room..my name is petar hood, flying solo dolo on this halloween eve..justin prince, as you can see, in the holiday spirit..he's dressed up as the invisible man tonight..time to punch some tickets..two dozen local high school football teams were still alive coming into the night..the goal for all 24 of them... to make it to the month of november..you do that, it means you're playing for a sectional championship next week..

We begin in class 6a...snider travleing to take on homestead in the locker room's game of the week... ???the spartans, your defending champions in sectional 3, come in ranked eighth in the state... they beat the panthers badly at spuller stadium earlier this season..???but snider let them know from the opening kick that this would be a much tougher battle... tavarious easley-jones fields it at his own 10, gets a crease, gets outside... just the kicekr to beat... and easley will win that race easily... 90 yards to the house... it'a 7-0 snider just 13 seconds into the game..???later in the first quarter, same score... snider looking for more... tyrese brown with a big gain into spartans' territrory... that leads to a field goal... makes it 10-0 panthers..???but it was pretty much all homestead from there... on the ensuing drive... evan ormsby to nate anderson... anderson's got dudes touchin' the turf out there... first down sparty..???moments late... this time it's ormsby to wide open ethan chambers at the goal line... the indiana state commit gets the spartans on the board..???they roll from there... homestead moves on with a 28-10 win... ???so the spartans move on to play the winner of this game... carroll taveling to take on warsaw..

Both teams went 7-2 in the regular season..???and this game was as good as advertised... pick it up late in the third quarter... that juan jaramillo touchdown ties the game at 28 a piece...???same score, fourth qaurter... tigers knoking on the door again... this time it's patrick zollinger finding paydirt... warsaw takes the lead and they'd hold on to it..

???tigers pull off the upset... 42-35 your final... ???we bump down to class 5-a... sectional 11... north side playing host to northrop... no fans in the stands for this one after the f-w-c-s announcement regarding spectators yesterday..

???legends led by two touchdowns at the half... but northrop putting something together on their first drive in the third qaurter... keone bates hits dane kilby over the middle for a first down..

???later in the drive... some trickery from jason doerffler and company... they go with the reverse, wide receiver pass... it's kilby on the other end again for the touchdown..

Northrop pulls within eight...???but back comes north side on the ensuing drive... duce taylor firing one across the middle... ryan collins makes the catch... first down legends..???moments later... taylor swings out to rodney woods, and woods does all the heavy lifting on this play... touchdown north...???legends get a little revenge on northrop, who beat them just two weeks ago... 42-21 the final... ???staying in sectional 11.... bishop dwenger trying to punch its ticket to the title game... saints welcoming anderson to shields field..

???indians got on the board early in this one, but it got ugly after that... pick it up second quarter, saints up a touchdown when brenden lytle goes over the top for sam campbell..

That score puts dwenger up by 14...???ensuing possession for anderson... trying to put something together, but john michael fabini is having none of it... big tackle for loss for fabini..???saints' defense forces a three and out, and it didn't take the offense long to find the endzone again... this time it's lytle keeping it himself, getting outside and finding the pylon..

???dwenger all over anderson tonight... 42-6 the final... ???to class 4-a we go... couple of rivals meeting up in sectional 19 tonight... defending champ east noble traveling to take on dekalb..

???tied up seven - seven in the third.you see the stop there on fourth down... refs have to bring the chains out to make sure... and it is... dekalb with the big stop to take over on downs....???but they don't do much with it.

Next play fumble on the handoff for a big loss on the play.

Facing third and long they try and go for it with the fake punt... thats not going to work either.

Still seven to seven at the end of the third.???any offensive plays are welcome here and we can see one.nice run by justin marcellus here.

East noble with just enough to beat dekalb.

They win 14 to 7.

???so the knights will get the winner of this game... 4-a #6 leo playing host to northwood...???leo jumps to an early six to zero lead... but from there the first half dominated by northwood.

Ethan evers here with the catch and run for the big gain...???then on the goal line the panthers able to punch it in.

Tie it up at six to six.???couple possessions later its the panthers again... this time the keeper from nate newcomer.

Northwood takes the lead 12 to six.???couple missed two point conversions keeps the lions in this.trying to get something going on offense.

Gets the handoff and is able to get a here.???not a lot going for the lions in the first half... but the lions manage to scrap together a win.

Class 4a sectional 20class 4a sectional 20marion 33 south side 14delta 49 wayne 18 ???we move to class 3-a now... a good one in sectional 27 as 13th ranked concordia visits an oak hill team that comes in on a six game win streak???early on in the first, concordia on their first drive, the cadets able to cap it off with this 11 yard run from amir drew.

He punches it in for the first points of the game concordia go up 7-0???oak hill though, they would fight back on defense, the cadets looking to go to the air, but brandon davis ca find anyone downfield... and it's eventually intercepted by the golden eagles...???but fortunately for concordia, their offense was just a bit stronger than that oak hill d..

On the reverse play here, kameron johnson is able to rip off a big chunk of yards here.

???concordia goes on to win 24-0... ???on the other side of the bracket in sectional 27... 3- a's 7th ranked norwell knights hosting maconaquah..???and this thing was one sided from the opneing kickoff... norwell up a bunch when we pick it up late second quarter.... eli riley looking deep downfield for luke graft... the sophomore hauls it in for the long score... six more on the board for norwell..they're up 35-0...???just before the half... maconaquah trying desperately to get some points on the board... nolan kelly scrambling, buying some time... eventaully heaves it downfield, where it's picked off by riley... norwell up five touchdowns at the half,,, ???and they add to that lead in the third quarter... the handoff goes to isiah brege... he houses it... puts the knights up 42-0...???norwell cruises into the championship game... 49-7 your final..

They'll take on concordia next week... ???staying in 3-a... sectional 26... west noble, winners of two straight, looking to keep the good times going against jimtown..jimmies took the opening kick-off... and marched right down the field on their opening drive.

-------------------- on their 2nd drive...jimtown was in the redzone... but west noble's lucas baker gets into the backfield and drops the qb for a huge loss!

That woulda knocked most hs teams out of fg range...but not jimtown... ------------------ because they've got isaac daniels.

That puts the jimmies up 10-0 after one quarter.

Jimmies roll to the 38-0 win... class 3a - sectional 26 mishawaka marian 41, tippy valley 24 ???in class 2-a... one of the most intriguing matchups of the night as bishop luers pays undefeated and seventh ranked farifield a visit..luers strikes first.

In sectional 34... wabash has already clinched its first winning season since 2015... big test for the apaches tonight as they take on 2-a #13 bremen..???pick this one up in the second quarter, bremen already up 28-0 at this point, and they just pile on.

Lions receiver hunter bennett able to stay in bounds and battle across the goalline to tack on another 6 points.

It 35-0 at this point...???wabash gonna need some magic... they get some right here... antonio grant fields the kickoff at their own 10 yard line and he gets some good blocks... grant takes it 90 yards to the house to cut the deficit back to 28...???but bremen turns right back around as if nothing happened.???wabash on the ball here, quick hands from the bremen linebacker austin mckenzie he picks off the apache pass.

He claws his way into the endzone to tack on another score for bremen ???wabash, their season ends tonight, they go down 63-13 the final ???down in class 1-a... adams central trying to make it to their sectional championship game for a sixth straight season..

Flying jets taking on triton tonight..???and this thing was all about the defenses early... scoreless when we pick it up first quarter... lane lengerich blows that play up in the backfield..???moments later... a whole host of jets there to make the tackle on this sweep... ???later in the first... flying jets trying to take advantage of good field position, but ryan black gets gobled up here by the torjans..

???this game scoreless after a quarter... a-c goes on to win, 38-14..they'll take on the winner of southwood vs.

Caston, which will be played tomorrow morning..

???and finally... a big-time small school showdown in sectional 43... top-ranked and unbeaten south adams visiting ninth ranked monroe central... golden bears' only loss this year came to the stars..

???first drive of the game... christian summersett with the big gain... gets 'em inside the monroe central 25..

???later in the drive... it's james arnold looking endzone for drew stutzman... starfires jump out to a 7-0 lead... and they would roll from there... south adams wins 48-7.... they'll take on madison grant next week in the title game..
