Senator mitch mcconnell taking the podium here in downtown louisville earlier today--calling last nights win a gratifying victory... he also touched on a number of topics for kentuckians... "it was a statement by the people of kentucky.
I think they like having someone from our state help build the national agenda and to look out for middle america and for kentucky."
The republican senator defeating his democratic opponent amy mcgrath in the closely watched senate race tuesday... mcconnell winning with more than 50 percent of the votes.... on wednesday the senator hitting several topics---- including the latest on the majority in the senate--saying it's too early to tell whether republicans will hold the majority... mcconnell also holding no reservations when it comes to the courts---he says both sides are lawyered up-- in the presidential race---and he has no trouble with the president implying he would take the case the court...although that is not something the president can do himself.... "going to court is the way we resolve uncertainty in our country, so no i'm not troubled at all by the president suggesting that because the other side is already doing it too and you can anticipate in close elections both sides will be lawyered up and will end up in court.
It happened over, and over, and over again.
Nothing unusual."

"we need another rescue package.
The senate goes back into session next monday.
Hopefully the partisan passions that prevented us from doing another rescue package will subside with the election.
I think we need to do it and i think we need to do it before the end of the year."
Meanwhile--- after mcconnel won the election tuesday----his opponent-- democrat amy mcgrath-- released a video on twitter thanking supporters... reporting in downtown louisville-- md--44news.
