Show open the macon police department is asking for your help locating a missing 14-year- old.

According to the department's facebook page, malachi lindsey left home around 3 pm on tuesday, november 3rd.

He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, black jeans with holes in the front of them, white tennis shoes and carrying a black backpack.

If you have seen malachi or have any information on his whereabouts, contact the macon police department.

Starkville police have arrested two people in connection with a wednesday shooting.

Investigators arrested kentravius splouge and james o'briant last night.

They're both charged with aggravated assault, shooting into a dwelling, and shooting into an automobile.

Investigators say the first shots fired call came in at 11 o'clock wednesday morning around the sand hill area.

Then the suspects allegedly made their way to blake court townhouses on old highway 25 where police got a second shots fired call.

No one was injured in the shooting.

The incident remains under investigation.

Be on the look out for two men wanted for aggravated assault in west point.

Investigators there have issued arrest warrants for tjai jones and jamoni tillman.

Both are wanted in connection with a tuesday shooting at the west point deli.

That's on north division and bugg street.

One man was airlifted to an area hospital with injuries from the shooting.

Many americans say they're experiencing stress and anxiety from it all.

Our stephanie poole has a few tips to help relieve stress.

According the american psychological association, 68 percent of adults say the election has been a significant source of stress in their lives.

Thousands across the country are restless over the outcome of the election.

There's a-lot of uncertainty, i've been watching the news alot and just unsure of what's actually going to happen."

Counselor wendi woods of christian changes in starkville says there are a couple ways to stay stress free.

" if you play on your phone before bedtime, that's no a good idea because it keeps your brain active and engaged.

Right before bedtime, maybe take a 20 to 30 minute break from any media.any blue screens, telephones, computers, even television."

Intentional breathing exercises, woods says, is vital when it comes to body relaxation.

" you want to breathe like this and hold your breath for several seconds and let it out.

" mental health experts also suggest these methods to help reduce the stress.

" while everyone is waiting for answers, that's an area we don't have control over.

In situations where we don't have control, we tend to experience the most stress.

" butt sots " i really do think we need to take a break to help you out.

Instead of just looking at the tv all day waiting and some of this stuff will manipulate your mind if you look at it too long."

Woods says it's one thing to remember...patienc e is key.

"everyone has been impacted by the election, by racial tensions, by the unrest across our country, and by the pandemic itself.

Reminding ourselves to not only be patience with others but also being patient with ourselves."

The few states report ballot numbers are nevada, pennsylvania, north carolina, georgia,and arizona.

Mississippi is reporting its second highest number of new covid-19 cases since this summer.

The health department is reporting 1,612 new cases today and 8 deaths.

In our area, lee county has the most new cases with 58.

Lowndes county has 40; pontotoc is reporting 28 and okitbbeha has 19 new cases.

689 people are hospitalized with confirmed or suspected cases of covid-19.

168 patients are in icu.

73 are on a ventilator.

An aberdeen printing company has learned the meaning of being flexible during the past few months.

As wcbi's allie martin reports, the family owned business had to shift its focus from printing, to personal protective equipment as covid 19 began.

Now, the company is re investing profits back into the business.

At allmond printing, one of the newest pieces of equipment is up and running.

Nats a wide format printer nats along with a finishing cutter were purchased with revenue from a product the company started making in the spring, when covid 19 related shutdowns meant printing jobs dried up.

An employee suggested making face shields for health care workers.

Soon, allmond printing was making tens of thousands of face shields for mema.

"it ballooned on us really fast."

Two hundred thousand face shields later, the company is still making some ppe, such as sneeze guards for schools, but the printing business is picking back up and allmond has been able to re invest the profits from those face shields back into the company his father started in 1957.

Allmond says the new equipment is a game changer for the company.

"it speeds up our production, it opens up avenues that we would not have had before,it puts us at the next level."

Standup bridge allmond printing was also able to add a 2000 square foot addition to the east side of its building.

That new space will be used for storage.

The company also added an employee to the payroll.

Regina kyles was hired as a temp worker to make the face shields this spring, and did such a good job, she is now a full time employee .

"it's a blessing, during this time of the year, all that's going on in the world, to even get up in the morning and have a job."

John allmond say the pandemic has taught him that a business must be ready to adapt to change, by finding a way to help others, and keep afloat financially.

"we feel good, in a position to continue to increase business and we do business across the entire country, not just regionally, we feel confident we will be here for another sixty years."

In aberdeen, allie martin, wcbi news martin, wcbi news allmond says the company is entering a busy time of the year with the christmas season upon us, and of course, there are always local elections to help keep them busy.

A special project at mississippi university for women is encouraging unity and inclusion among students and staff.

It's called the w unity project... this project was created by the w's diversity, equity & inclusion council.

During the event on campus today, participants received ball of yarn and then used it to connect to any of the thirty two categories that identify them.

The categories included political party, nationality.... even your relationship status.

Organizers say the goal of the project is let students and faculty members know that they welcomed and can feel safe.

"not just for 2020 but for this election that we are in currently.

No matter the sides that we are on, everything has become so political.

But we are unified, we are you know a big part of this project is to talk about the human race so though we may differ in our stances in our beliefs, in our backgrounds, we are all human and we are all the w."

Organizers say the project was a success.

Dozens of students and faculty participated.

Top the mississippi department of transportation will soon make an announcement regarding the new roundabout at the intersection of military road and highway 82.

Portions of the roadway will be blocked off so workers can finish construction.

Mdot is set to make an official announcement regarding alternate routes and lane closures sometime before noon tomorrow.

They say no matter what they decide, closures won't begin until this sunday.

Stinger they say they just want the best for their loved ones.

We hear from family members concerned about conditions and care at a local nursing a group of about 15 people gathered outside the floy dyer manor nursing home in houston today to speak out against alleged neglect and abuse that they claimed their loved ones have suffered during their stay.

Wcbi news reporter stephen pimpo was at that demonstration and joins us in the studio with more.

Floy dyer administrator luke rhinewalt told me they are in the process of an on- going facility investigation.

Dyer said he could not confirm or deny if that investigation was connected to accusations of "quote" horror stories citizens have claimed their loved ones have experienced in the nursing home.

"i've got patients in there that have gone down so far that they'll never get that back."

A crisis in the nursing home.

That's what members of the community allege is going on at floy dyer care & rehabilitation center in houston.

"it's unreal what these people have done to other residents and gotten away with.

It has to stop."

Sisters brenda crow rhonda hood say their father claims he was pinched by a staff member of the nursing home and say they found multiple untreated bruises.

"and the bruises on his left hip down the backside of his left leg, it looked like someone just slung him over in a wheelchair."

Rhonda and brenda and several others also claim patients are not being properly fed.

"he had done went down from almost 200 pounds to 153 pounds.

They are not feeding these people.

They are starving them."

Thursday, rhonda and brenda showed up outside floy dyer with other concerned family of patients to protest.

Judy cook says her 76- year-old mother has had three major falls since may.

"she was dropped or was not restrained well and fell and broke her femur."

In a statement to wcbi, floy dyer administrator luke rhinewalt says they quote "understand the daily frustration" unquote of patients and their family members and that they look to uphold the quote "highest standard of care for their patients."

Rhinewalt says they are in the process of an on- going facility investigation but could not comment further on any of the recent accusations.

"i'm not able to comment on that ongoing investigation."

Several members of the group have pointed the finger at rhinewalt over the alleged worsening conditions.

"get somebody in here that will take care of our loved ones.

That's all we want."

I spoke with floy dyer administrator luke rhinewalt over the phone today and he told me planned on making a public statement to the group of demonstartors but the event ended without rhinewalt making an appearance.

He loved god.

He just wanted to be an example and he showed that through the way he acted towards people his mother linda launched the nick bell foundation shortly after his death& it's mission& to empower young people to become confident& kind& and generous young men and women& the goal is to have the same impact on people that he did bell says: even his coaches have told me nick had impacted their lives more than they have ever felt that they had impacted his.

I was looking at things reminding me of him being courageous and those are the traits we want to teach those kids.

The things we saw in my boy.

Some of the foundation's funds go towards camps& which help teach those character traits nick had...but another component of bell's mission includes trying to implement character requirements into the school curriculum& she's attempting to get it through the state legislature bell says: "kids are not getting what they need if they are being drawn to the streets.

We need to find out what they need and offer it to them in a controlled environment and then teach and encourage them from k-12.

It would make a huge difference for them but also for the community" anderson says: "i have never seen anything in the school system that can equal what was written up and used for young children."

The next step is to have some events at mississippi state in the near future& when things are safer& to help raise money for the nick bell scholarship& and continue to honor her son's legacy bell says: "my baby has still been gone for 10 years, but people still remember him like he is still here."
