WAAY 31's Breken Terry discusses the impact of the corona virus has on local schools and the decision of the board of education to stand by their decision.

In the district.

Each time, they've declined.

Waay31's breken terry joins us live outside of the board of educations headquarters... breken what did you learn?

After parents and students packed a board of education meeting here on wednesday to talk about the impact of coronavirus on schools and sports, i wanted to ask the superintendent how he and other county officils felt about that but all week they've been too busy to speak with me.

I also asked the district for its updated coronavirus numbers since their most recent data is only up to november 14th - 5 days ago!.

The district said it will update its coronavirus dashboard this coming monday.

From november 8th to the 14th the district had 685 students and staff in quarantine and about 60 active coronavirus cases.

That's what lead the district to go virutal until november 30th and cancel all extra curricular activies.

Parents and students voiced their concerns over not being able to play the next two weeks but it seems the board has no plans of reversing its decision.
