Dr. roy shannon says this is the largest spike in staff cases they've had so far.i spoke with a woman who works here who did not want to be indentified but she says she is upset about how the hospital handled the situation.
Anonymous: it seems like administration is not taking it very seriously.
Dr. roy shannon/head of infection control: if a person has a true concern, they should come to me, they should come to our administrator, director of nurses and make this concern known.
I will say we have had a surge in patients just like everyone in the country.
Every hospital has staff that have become positive.
Kristian: have you brought this to the attention of your supervisors, if so what are they telling you?
Anonymous: yes, different answers, from different people, it seems like they are just trying to calm us.
Dr. roy shannon: i don't think our supervisors give mixed messages.
I have full confidence in all of our supervisors and administration.
Kristian: these 35-40 employees, are they self isolating right now?
Dr. roy shannon: yes they are not at work.
We believe most were acquired outside of work and we have looked into it very deeply.
Kristian: is this the largest surge you've seen in employees so far?
Dr. roy shannon: yes and it's also the largest surge we've seen in the country.
Anonymous: i just hope they can be more truthful and transparent and have an honest conversation with their employees treating us like we are a member of their team.
I asked dr. shannon if this is causing a shortage in staffing - he says they are fully staffed because people are working more hours.
